Description

The Norton Family app¹, from the makers of Norton Security, helps teach your kids safe habits for Web exploration and helps you stay in the know about where your kids are. “Norton Family Premier offers an impressive range of parental control and monitoring features for parents of today’s hyper-connected kids.” ~ Neil J. Rubenking, Reprinted from www.pcmag.com with permission. © 2016 Ziff Davis, LLC. All Rights Reserved. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE APP IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR USE ON CHILD DEVICES ONLY. Please use the Norton Family portal for configuration and monitoring. Stay tuned for updates on the availability of our app for parents’ use. Download the Norton Family app to your kids’ iOS devices, which will install the Norton browser for enhanced protection. - Web Supervision: Configure rules in the Norton Family portal to control your child’s access to websites. When your child accesses any of the blocked websites in the Norton browser, you will be notified in the portal. - Location Tracking²: Turn on Location Supervision³  on your child’s device to track their current location, and view the Location history in the Norton Family portal. - Search Supervision: Track your child’s search activities through the Norton browser in the Norton Family Portal - Video Supervision²: View the Youtube videos your child watched in the Norton browser in the Norton Family portal. - Instant Lock: Grant or block access to all apps, browsers, games and more from the Norton Family portal when you need to enforce a break. Parents and kids can still connect to each other when the kid's device is in Lock mode. - Use the different forms of activity-tracking reports in the Norton Family portal mentioned above (30-day history) to gain insights into how and where your kids spend their time online, so you can see what their interests are and help keep them safe.     IMPORTANT NOTE: Please disable Safari or any other browser and the YouTube app so that your children’s activity can be monitored. ¹ Norton Family account required to use the Norton Family app ² Premium feature, which will be available until the 30-day trial is over ³ Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life INTERNET SAFETY FOR KIDS AND TEENS Online safety is a growing concern for children and parents. Common threats regarding Internet family safety include: cyber bullying, obscene or offensive content, pornography, hateful messages, and sexual predators. Children are naturally curious and may not always know when an online situation is unsafe. Fortunately, Norton Family can help monitor your child’s online activity. NOTE TO PARENTS: If you face any issues with the app on your child's device, send us an email NortonFamily_Support@Symantec.com.

i am one of the unlucky kids whose parents won’t trust me on my phone i bought myself. with my own money. by the way i am in high school. anyway the app never works correctly on my iphone and it’s very frustrating because every night it makes 90% of my apps disappear and every morning my mom has to reset norton for them to reinstall. i have about 30 ish apps and i have to regroup all of them every day. it’s very frustrating. also for those kids who want to get rid of it it’s very easy. go to settings>general>device management>management profile>remove management.

I definitely regret paying for this app when there are others that have a parental control app versus having to use the website. It’s not easy to access and the mobile site is not great. Also, it’s not as effective for Apple devices. I went with this because I trusted the Norton name but regret this purchase.

I got the trial for my sons phone and iPad. Set it up and a few hours after install all his apps deleted including the AppStore!!! We were able to recover his phone but our old iPad lost all info. Buyer beware. This is an awful VIRUS!!!!!!

So where is the parental control for this app??? You should make the app so parents can control this app on a child’s phone! 2 separates app, not one!

Glitch currently. Getting 100 emails notifications that access turned off which is not the case. Let’s my son play games in apps that I have blocked. Let’s your child watch what ever they want on you tube. Chat support super slow and not helpful. No follow up.
  • Misleading

Wait what? That’s what I get for not reading the fine print. So I can’t monitor my kids’ devices through the app that I just paid $54 to be able to monitor? Please tell me that there is a free parental app that can be downloaded to an iPhone to monitor the devices I just paid for
  • Where are my apps

whenever my mother got this to monitor my searches, my apps have been disappearing then reappearing which disorganized everything, it’s been doing that every night and it’s frustrating that i have to reorganize it everyday.
  • Better on Android. Seriously lacking in iPhone.

This app works as described. Unfortunately, if you do as we did and change from Android to Apple you lose so many of the features that it's no longer worth having. The time limit function and text monitoring functions were the two primary reasons we purchased this app but when we switched we lost those. The web filter is far better than anything else we've tried so far but all of the other offered restrictions can be set up using iPhone built in parental controls so they're pointless. Plus, you lose the parent app that's available on Android.
  • Not for Apple, junk

Half the features done work for Apple devices. Those that do glitch like crazy. If you have Verizon, their optional family app is 10000x better. This was a waste of money.
