So far this is the best product they have come out with.
  • Who thought this was a good idea.

After having Blue chart which was an excellent backup for my Garmin chart plotter now I have to buy a new Chart plotter that can talk to my IPad. I needed the blue chart since my 3400 dollar chart plotter could not use active captain. I can’t see how this mess they have made of Active Captain is in any way helpful. And the mapping costing more than twice as much is a nice touch.
  • Bad and bug filled

Garmin has some work to do on this one. Simply put it does not work. I have Garmin equipment and can’t even sync my waypoints from iPad to chart plotter. Not much in the way of support or instructions either. For example, does it sync both ways and if so how is priority determined. Totally frustrating. They should have hired Apple to write it for them.
  • Active Capitan!

This app has work flawlessly for me. I loaded it about a month ago and have been able to update software, and keep updated in my system by simply opening the app and tapping around. Super easy, super fast, super connected! Great job Garmin.
  • Port Sanilac Nice town

Spent 3 weeks in Port Sanilac having transmission work done. This town has basically everything needed to get by within walking distance. Grocery, laundry and hardware store.
  • Awesome app

Love the app for my gps and how it will update the maps and firmware
  • Great App

Overall this is a great app to use in conjunction with Garmins compatible chart plotters. Great to be able to plan entire trip, add waypoints and routes directly into my IPad and then easily transferring via wifi to my 7612 . I have no idea what others are complaining about. I have been a Garmin fan for many years and this App works perfectly fine including Helm control and the ability to download previously purchased maps from several years back. Keep up with the good improvements and updates.
  • Garmin - you can do better

    By Trebz
The app is very buggy, host of it is not even useable. Active captain community - doesn’t work, can’t download data. Quickdraw community - doesn’t work. Cannot upload data. Register a device? - nope. Pending registration. Something is fundamentally broken with this app and it’s connection. It doesn’t seem to be able to get out to the internet. Here is a more detailed review of what doesn’t work: I have a garmin 73SV and an iPhoneX - both updated to the latest software versions. I am having multiple issues with the active captain application. I have been mapping my lake with QuickDraw contours. You can see in the screen shot below that they are ready to be uploaded. However, they never upload. I am connected to the internet, and I have tried via LTE and WiFi. ‘ When I search for countours, and try to download them, the application will crash immediately after hitting the download button. As you can see below, I also cannot register my device. It seems that there are come flaws in the app in terms of being able to use the network connection. Finally, when I go into the active captain community, it says “download content to enable” however, I cannot download any content. If I click ‘update now’ nothing happens at all. If I select, ‘manage content’ the ‘download content’ button doesn’t work either. Nothing happend when it is selected.
  • Total garbage

I have no idea why Garmin would dump Bluechart for this piece of crap. Avoid this app like the plague, and don't waste your time or money. Garmin had a good thing with BlueChart. They really screwed us on this one. Apparently Garmin doesn't listen to their customers because the majority of the reviews of this indicate that most users hate it.
  • Terrible app

Garmin needs to completely rework this app.
