  • Unable to cast from my iPad onto my home theater system

    By Absolutsigh
YouTube Netflix and other channels seamlessly cast from my iPad onto my smart tv but despite having deleted and reloaded the FilmStruck app it still gets stuck at just showing the title of the film and then just a status bar appears forever. How do I fix this?

Apple TV 3. I feel really lucky when I don’t get Playback Error 101000. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why I get these. Almost none of the supplemental stuff will play. Many of the movies wont either. And then later sometimes they do. Very very aggravating. On my MacBook AIR it requires ADOBE FLASH to play movies. Which I didn’t have installed. I figured I would install it just for Filmstruck and it loaded a piece of malware onto my laptop. After sorting that out I was able to get the same content to play on my laptop that wouldn’t play on my Apple TV. So it’s obviously something wrong with the app. Try out the free 2 week trial period before you even think about subscribing. Personally, I’m quite disappointed.
  • Not user friendly

    By Mériem C.
Browsing is painful, the watchlist shows but not its contents, some movies are impossible to find under their country or filmmaker magically appear under their title, the back and forth between Criterion and Filmstruck is a sum, very frustrating. Also, PayPal is not accepted as a method of payment even thought it’s listed as such. This app is so indigent I’m unlikely to actually subscribe despite the amazing library.

Its like the curated video store thats been missing from my life for years. What a blessing to have such a collection streaming at an affordable price.
  • The best source of classic films.

Wonderful collection of movies and commentaries. Definitely worth the money.
  • Great content, lousy streaming

I have had this service for over a year and it is one of the most frustrating movie services yet - worse than Epix. Over the last 6 weeks, we have only been able to watch 3 films out of 15 successfully on Apple TV. No sooner do the credits begin than it goes into reboot mode and then error codes. When attempting to get support, there is virtually none. If you live on the West Coast, support is only available until 6 PM; after that, you are screwed. I have ripped apart, reconnected and reset the app so often that I have lost count. If there were a way to get a refund I would, but FilmStruck just takes the money and pretty much doesn’t give a hoot afterwards.

So I was really mad because I wanted to watch this movie called the belko experiment, so I looked up how to watch the full movie online and it said to download this app. I downloaded it all exited and I looked up the movie and nothing came up. Like seriously.. advertise the movies that u actually have. >:(
  • So many issues, very disappointed

I don’t even know where to begin. Lots of different sorts of errors on both iPad, iPhone, and android tv. Literally every single time I use the app. Really wanted this to be good (or at least usable) because we dumped hbo and wanted to watch some great films. Too frustrating and sadly we will probably quit FilmStruck after the trial is up.
  • Encouragement and advice

The content is appreciated and welcome but the method is still slightly lacking. Your competition has plenty more conveniences. I am not always able to resume watching from where I left off. Taking it one step further titles that I have started and not finished could appear as a reminder to continue where I left off before. Being available as a feature on gaming devices so to be accessible through tv screens and not just tablets and smartphones would be a huge relief and a welcomed encouragement to indulge in your provisions. I love Split Screen as a series and can easily find it while it is a category under the criterion collection; however it does not appear when I type “split screen” into search. This alone tells me that your search could use an upgrade. Being able to search for movies by actors, language, director and year would be nifty, but that is the least of my suggestions. I sincerely thank you for your time if you have made it this far. Happy new year! Live long and prosper, or whatever other cliche you wish I had added...
