Great app! It is very user friendly and helps with eating healthy and exercising. I just have a few suggestions for the developers: 1) when first starting the app, I do not like being automatically taken to the camera. I kjow that's the biggest feature for this app, but I honestly don't think people use the app to take a pictures of their food more than they do all the other features 2) when you buy the subscription and are able to get a custom meal plan made for you, I think you should let the user know what is considered a serving. I am looking at a meal right now that requires 6 pieces of bread but says the meal is 160 calories. Now I'm don't work for the FDA, but something is off about that lol. 3) can you please add a section where we can put our cardio work outs in manually? I do Daily Burn which is a home exercise program and I know exactly how many calories I burned but don't know where to put it. Should I put it under jump rope? Idk lol 4) also can you please add snack suggestions. Right now I'm looking at meal plan where breakfast, lunch, and dinner are only 800 calories to total but my total budget 1400, so now what do I eat? Lol

They will charge you the wrong price, even though you have proof of advertised price, and never contact you! I don't even want this app anymore, I just want my money!
  • Decent app but find nutrition values to contradict the food producers too often.

The app is fairly easy to use but have found that the nutritional values of multiple products don’t match what the producers have indicated. For instance, I scanned the bar code for Jimmy Dean turkey sausage patties and the app says that a serving is 100 cal, 7g of fat, 1g of carbs, and 11g of protein. The box from Jimmy Dean says 130 cal, 8g of fat, 2g of carbs, and 13g of protein. I scanned the same code in two other calorie counting apps and they matched the box. I have only had the app for 3 days but have come across 7 or 8 items that have not matched up the info provided by the food producer. For this reason I feel that I will need to use a different app to track my daily nutritional intake.
  • Doesn’t recognize anything!

I took a picture of my lunch plate which contained cabbage, black eye peas, ham and potatoes. It didn’t recognize the cabbage at all, on potatoes it suggested mashed potatoes, but it was just plain boiled potatoes and the picture was clear. Then once you select the type of food from suggestions, you need to put in the weight or the amount and it gives you the amount of calories. I expected more out of this app, deleting it.
  • Recipes lacking

I just paid extra for meal Plans and there’s no way the calories are accurate. They all Say they are one serving yet the calories of the ingredients add up to 10 times what they say. This is very misleading. For instance one recipe calls for a pound of ground turkey. Nowhere does it say how many servings the recipe is making and the calories are around 300!

  • Impressive AI technology!

It almost always gets the correct food when I take a decent picture, that part of the app is flawless. What the app needs is a better way to get reports out of it as to what you have had for the week/month and trends to see at a glance if you are making progress in the right direction.
  • Easy to use!

Started using Calorie Mama after trying out a couple other apps. By far the easiest one to use. I love the uncluttered interface and the navigation in the app is straight forward. One missing feature, I’d love to have is label scanning. I use the bar code scanner and the AI features about 70% of the time. The rest is manually searching for the food to add. Again best ratio, compared to the other apps.
