  • No Roblox!??

    By tempestaster
It’s ok, I like the interface and the adding time and chores but my biggest problem is that it blocks certain apps!? It’s constantly blocking Roblox (which is the most popular game around and all my son plays) and Sometimes it’s YouTube or YouTube kids? There’s no control to unblock a game or an app so I have to turn off the app on my phone and disable the vpn on my sons phone if he wants to play the one game he constantly loves playing, kinda defeats the purpose. I tried going on their support page but there’s nothing on there, it lists Roblox as one of the allowed games? I tried calling and all I get is transferred to a voicemail. If this doesn’t get resolved I’m going to be requesting a refund..

You would think it would be easy to have a ‘screen time’ limiting app within the Apple ecosystem, but I’ve looked and have yet to find one that works well (and I’ve look at all of them). UnGlue has some promise and their approach is ok, but they fail in that they control the apps that are categorized and blocked (and it’s not well publicized either) when time limits are reached. Kids device(s) are ever changing and if they have an app not listed in the ‘Entertainment’ list, then it’s available to your kid. As well, some apps don’t function with their VPN, so even within the permitted limits, an app won’t work. UnGlue’s response is to use their HomeMonitor, which is a home network only option (or wherever you install that service, but requires a pc or their puck) - not a good architecture. The UI is good and the chores/exercise for time is a good concept, except a child can only submit one chore at a time, and has to wait for a parent to approve before submitting for another chore. Overall, UnGlue is headed in the right direction, it simply lacks some of the core blocking and tackling to make it useful. I have their CEO plenty of feedback via email. Hopefully the product matures quickly.

Cannot say enough good things about this and how it helps teach kids responsible use of screen time. Easy to learn and teach and so very powerful!!!
  • Amazing

Not only can I set limits on the iPad, I can set a time for the WiFi to switch on and off!!! My son has a habit of sneaking in his iPad during the night. Now I can set his WiFi to turn off at a certain time so he cannot watch his videos. I also love how he can earn more time through chores or bank his time for the weekend. Great app!!! I can also check in and see what apps he is using the most. Thank you for creating this!!!
  • Not for kids smart enough to disable VPN

    By Levotti
Good thinking but the application is not servicing to purpose. First i was so impressed and paid for a year subscription. Second i figured, it is not possible to track my kid’s activity once he disable VPN. It is not possible to use this app properly. And they did not refund my money back. Poor service...

UnGlue relies on a VPN configuration to work however a Running VPN causes some apps not to work - specifically Netflix. What’s even worse is that disabling the VPN requires no password and was quickly figured out by my kids. Once the VPN is disabled tracking and limiting time stops working. Shame on you unGlue!!!
  • Doesn’t work with Roblox

    By JeffMorg
I spent a ton of time researching this and was super excited to try it. Very disappointed to find out that Roblox won’t work at all with the UnGlue profile installed. Uninstall the profile and it works again. How frustrating. Given that this is where my kids spend all of their iPad time it ain’t gonna work for us. Moving on to the next solution.
  • Working well

    By Dagger41
So far our 10-year-son has loved this app. He has more incentives to finish his homework early, to make his bed and do his chores in order to gain more time. It’s amazing how an extra 5 minutes can keep a kid responsible 😊

When app is installed on Childs device it will not allow child to watch videos we approve. Other than this it’s been a great app
  • Manages same time bank across all devices!

    By chuckarter
I’m thrilled to teach my son how to self manage his internet time across his multiple devices - iPhone, iPad, Xbox, and a Windows laptop. I’ve set up the App to allow an hour per day, with the opportunity for him to complete chores to earn an additional hour per day. Love that he can motivate to do chores to earn more time in his ‘Entertainment Time Bank’. Also teaches him about saving, as unused minutes “roll-over” in his time bank for future use.
