  • Loving Spark

I began using Spark after years of loyality with Mail. Spark gives you endless options and its interface is extremly user friendly. I would HIGHLY reccomend this App for anyone wanting to streamline their inbox.

    Makes email tolerable.
  • Needs zoom function

    By Quickyj
plain text is readable but emails with image text is not always big enough and the zoom function under window does not do anything.
  • So intuitive!

  • Really really…good

Definitely a super solid email client. I switched from Airmail 3 because it was incredibly buggy and twice led to me deleting big swaths of emails I couldn’t get back (due to some filter that wasn’t working correctly). Big fan of Spark, but now its limitations are becoming clear after using it for a little while. My only gripe really is lack of complex rules for smart folders. I seem to be able to add only one ‘rule’ to a smart folder (FROM , etc) which is pretty annoying. I want to be able to automatically move my email to certain folders but that capability isn’t quite there yet except in a very basic form which greatly limits the usefulness. However its still by far the most enjoyable email client I’ve used so far. This isn’t a feature packed piece of software with calendars, todos, and everything else including the kitchen sink. It’s a tight, FAST, rock solid little piece of software that does what it sets out to do VERY VERY well. As a software developer, that’s pretty high praise that I rarely give. If I could have arbitrarily complex expressions to define a smart folder (without becoming slow and buggy) this would easily be a 5/5 for me. Things I love — Fast Not buggy Cloud sync of accounts Fully customizable keyboard shortcuts Gesture control is so nice, one of the things I never knew I couldn’t live without Things I don’t love — Smart Folders are so basic as to be barely useful, and there isn’t any alternative

Update (12 Jan 2018): Search results are still poor (see below). You can still only print the most recent message in a conversation and not the entire conversation thread. Support quality has decreased. Update (23 May 2017): Search results are still poor (see below). You can only print the most recent message in a conversation and not the entire conversation thread. Update (13 Dec 2016): I have an Exchange account with more than 11,000 archived messages and there seems to be an issue with caching/downloading all of these messages. As a result, search results are poor. Spark showed two results for my search term and the stock Mail app showed 47 when looking in my archive folder. Sad to say, I cannot use Spark at this point and hope they work this out. Like the iOS version, Spark for Mac is the perfect blend of features and minimalism…not too bloated, not too busy. There’s a few bugs here and there, but overall it’s a very polished first release. I was happy to see Exchange support from the start, unlike other mail clients whose developers say “it’s coming soon." Frankly, I’m surprised that it’s free and I contacted the co-founder to ask about donating to the group. The Readdle developers produce high-quality software, provide timely support, and update their apps frequently. Hats off to the Readdle team.
  • Bad support and one major flaw

    By JMoney2020
A decent app, but it has become unusable for me due to the send button in the light bar. The way I type I keep hitting it accidentally in the middle of composing my emails, which end up being sent to early… Very annoying. I should be able to customize the light bar and remove that button like I can with other apps, but for some reason the developer doesn’t allow for that. Add to that that support never replies when you email them and it’s just worth staying away until the start listening to their customers. I hate leaving a negative review, but it seems like it’s the only way to get the developers attnetion.
  • One Feature… Just One is All I Ask.

I have used just about every mail client out there… Outlook, Postbox, Thunderbird, Airmail, and of course Spark. By far the interface in Spark is my favorite of all time. One small feature keeps from using Spark effectively - mark email as read manually. I have tried several methods for keeping track of emails for action, and this is what works for me.
