  • Little moments add up!

    This program has helped me to become more aware of the feelings in my body *as stress comes on* so that I can identify it and deal with it in a healthier way. Dr. Brewer has become a familiar calming presence on my phone every time I start a new module. The *little moments* in the title refer to the short “check-ins” and quick mindfulness exercises that pop up on your phone during the day. This would be a wonderful app for folks who feel anxiety creeping in on a daily basis. For me, a person diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder, PTSD, and depression, it’s a great tool in my toolbox to help me along. I am moving on to my second round of the 30 modules. I know I’ll learn even more this time. ❤️ this app!

    I highly recommend this to everyone. Its difficult to realize it but one can have a really healthy relationship or mentality to your emotions.   • What an eye-opening experience

    I sum up this experience this way: I am more aware of my thoughts and feelings since beginning this program. The tools I’ve learned I can apply to aspects of my life other than anxiety, like eating, exercising, socializing, and having fun. The steps presented build on each other, and I find myself at the top of a hill which was easy to climb. Two things in particular I learned to embrace. The first is that my thoughts are not who I am. The second may seem contradictory, but it’s like a motivating factor for me. And that is my mantra, which is “I’ve got this.” In the most important thing is that I’ve learned to trust my body. Having PTSD from early childhood trauma made me distrust it and actually ignore it pretty much entirely. It is such a pleasure to say hello to it. This app encourages me to consistently check in with what my body is saying. I find it has a lot to tell me.

    The Unwinding Anxiety app provides short information segments that you can listen to, pause or review on demand. There are also assessments that are quite helpful in helping you figure out how you are feeling in the moment and offer exercises to decrease anxiety or worry on the spot. Notifications and reminders throughout the day are helpful and reinforce mindfulness practice and help to train the brain in healthier habit loops that decrease anxiety. I’ve completed 7 modules and plan to keep going through the program for 30 days at least.
