  • Great app, serious flaw

Great looking app but refuses to download images while on cellular data. As it won't use cellular data on a mobile device, my review needs to reflect this shortcoming.
  • Still no inoreader support

    Doesn't support inoreader
  • Great software, thoughtful interface

I have been a user of rss for several years. I have used a variety of readers on a variety of platforms. Unread is a very good app. The iPad is a great way to access rss. I had a couple of different readers that worked okay, but were kind of clunky. No clunkiness with Unread. It took a little while to unlearn some of the bad habits from the earlier readers, but now that i have, i love the Unread interface. Swiping back and forth to open articles and mark things read or unread is easy once you get used to it, and the integration with my browser is flawless. Great program.
  • UPDATE - I take it back...(An RSS reader that requires an RSS reader to work?)

    By RJRains
I tried it, I liked it, I bought it. NOW I see. Needs a little tweaking but a helluvan improvement over the Feedly interface. Please, disregard my original review below. (Sooooo, I have to use my Feedly account or another RSS reader to use this RSS reader? And then pay $6 to keep using it? Seems less than redundant and useless to me. Bye bye bye..)

  • Excellent tool; reliable and intuitive

    By Daniel Grady
Unread is a great full-text RSS reader that makes provides a very handsome, gesture-based interface for reading articles. I particularly like the Halloween theme for night-time reading, and the tap-to-full screen and alt text support for images, for XKCD.
  • My Top 2 iOS apps

    By The Hoi Polloi
I have used it every day for 4 years now; this along with a podcast app that I won't mention here, are absolutely the top 2 best designed iOS apps and must haves. I am a news junkie and that means tons of reading (and listening) and knowing what to skip so you focus on what is relevant and skip what you have read before. There is no other easier way to design this than what Unread has been doing. At least I don't know of a better app after having used 300 apps of all kinds in 10 years, and I don't even do gaming apps, I mostly use productivity apps. This one is in my Top 2, and truly deserves the only app review I have ever given. One thing I don't want the app designer to change is font. Please do not .. wait, dare not.. change from Whitney font. Nothing else can ever be so clean and pristine. I hear what other reviewers are asking you to change but perhaps as an old-timer, I would like you to just retain what you have. It's neat, compact and most well designed that I can see. I would in fact encourage you to move to a subscription model where readers pay at least $10 each year. It will keep some people away but I think that's a better model to sustain your business and not worry about closing shop than a one time unlock. You app is worth far more than $10 for a lifetime.
