  • Great app to hire a caregiver!

    The app itself has many bugs to iron out but the service itself works fairly well. I live in a well populated metro so I have a huge pool of caregivers to pick from. I received over 20 inquiries to my job post...took some time to interview and figure out who was good since most profiles look the same. I consider the price I pay for subscription worth it for the pool of talent I can access. Better than Craigslist!!!!

    I must say that this app was once wonderful but now they’re charging you to message people or even receive messages? About a year ago I use this app and found so many potential jobs FOR FREE. I download it recently since I’m looking for extra cash and it wants me to pay to use the app. No warning or anything. I reached out to quite a few job openings only to found out after 2 hours of searching I cannot receive messages from the families. I need to pay to do so... that’s ridiculous. Everything on this app cost money. For that I might as well just use another website and save myself the money I’m trying NOT to spend. 👎🏼

    As a job applicant I find this app useful overall but wish there was way to mark or delete postings that I have already read. There seem to be a lot of out dated posts that take a lot of time to get through before you find the ones that are actually current or still open. Care.com emails about “new” listings are also cluttered with profiles that are outdated and don’t have open jobs.

    I love care.com. I just don’t like the fact that the jobs that seem like they’re available are not and it’s only when we apply for them it gives us a. Error message saying “this job is not accepting applications at this time.” I think those particular jobs should go in a separate folder so that the person seeking work doesn’t have to waste time applying .
  • New update is awful.

    I used to love using Care.com but after the new update I have no intentions of using it again. Applications I had sent days before it forced me to update are unable to be opened by families because I didn't "go premium" it's ridiculous and unfair. If this update was going to happen, why couldn't you have just blocked my message from sending instead of letting me send it and not allowing a reply? I no longer recommend this app. The updates just keep getting worse and worse.
  • Crap Application and process.

    Care.com recently started blocking messages with phone numbers. So you cannot contact the Caregiver directly to discuss the job or set up an interview. This causes a lot of problems because your calls don’t go through. It is also frustrating for the job seeker and you as the advertiser because you have to register to except calls which I made through Care.com. Please don’t join because you will be frustrated.

    App routinely crashes, makes it difficult to repost old jobs, and sort through messages (options are to delete or not, no archive feature). I understand the need to protect phone numbers, but I should have the option to share my number if I want. Especially for the price involved.
  • Message feature is almost useless

    Doesn’t integrate with email to allow send/receive outside of the app. Navigating to a particular part of the message is difficult. Has very strange special character requirements.
  • List of Jobs is Confusing

    This app does not convey a noticeable difference in jobs that you have looked at, applied for, are new to you, etc. They ones on my personal feed all say new and have the LOOK. I am unable to delete/hide listings that are not for me. I end up getting confused if I’ve applied for a job or not because, when looking at the group of listings, it can get confusing.
