  • A Lesson in Frustration!

    Does anyone at the Tribune read these reviews? If so, what the hell is going on? From the number of bad reviews, it’s clear your App is useless, but you do nothing to fix it. It consistently freezes and fails to function. I know you guys are tight on cash, but ignoring these problem will only drive subscribers away. (BTW: the Suntimes’ App works a hell of lot better!)
  • Where’s the Story?

    Worst app out there. Just give me a blank page after clicking a story on the iPhone X. Does it on and off when it feels like it. But doesn’t do it on an iPad 10.5 Figure that out. Plus they charge me to be able to read the articles. Trib is Gr8 taking your money but not giving you the story.

    You would think that when electronic media is the only way for a newspaper to survive, it would try to have the best app. This one is worse than those in small towns. It doesn’t show recent news unless you ask it to. It starts with an annoying full screen advertisement. And the news updates are old. When there was a recent shooting tragedy, I got the news first in a national newspaper app. Even got local election results faster elsewhere, even though i pay for the Tribune. Whoever is responsible for this app should be held responsible for the final demise of the Tribune.
  • Issues still not fixed

    I wrote a review some time ago complaining that the app constantly froze - I would click on links to read a story, and at some point, whether the first story or several stories later, the link would open to a blank screen and the app would freeze. This has persisted through multiple app updates and iOS updates. I have an iPhone X, so it’s not an old phone, and my other apps work just fine. It’s frustrating not to be able to trust that I’ll be able to read a story that I’m interested in, and inexcusable that this hasn’t been fixed yet.

    The reviews are true — too many adds; some stories don’t open; news not updated enough; LA Times app is cheaper and better. Same corporation? I don’t get it. I canceled my subscription.

    Always always crashes. Only thing that will not crash is their pop up adds. Canceling my subscription
  • Needs an overhaul

    Supporting journalism is incredibly important to me, especially in times like this. For as long as I can remember my family have been loyal Tribune subscribers, and I began carrying on the tradition when I grew up. HOWEVER, the iOS app is largely unusable as it currently stands. As others have noted, the splash page loads without issue however news articles **do not** load. I do not mean for this to disparage the Tribune and it's hard working journalists and other employees, but Tronc should be spending less money on paying their idiot exec's and more money focusing on their reader experience.

    Every article I try to read, app freezes. Close and reopen doesn’t help. Reinstall doesn’t help.
