Description

Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks are amazing natural treasures located in northwest Wyoming. The area is known for amazing vistas, beautiful mountains and surreal thermal features. If you are planning a trip to the area, this application is for you. It provides easy-to-use day hike information for nearly 100 hikes in the two parks. It includes classic hikes around Jenny Lake in Grand Teton National Park and geyser and thermal pool hikes around Old Faithful in Yellowstone National Park just to name a few. The hiking and vertical profile maps can be panned and zoomed to make them easy to use. Features for each hike: -trailhead information -hiking distance -elevation change -trail difficulty -trail rating -trail description -trail map -vertical profile (strenuous hikes) The app also includes climate and weather information, so you can plan your adventure for the right time of year. All this information is contained within the app, so no need for internet access (except for radar data, weather forecasts, and one map, the “Trailhead Locations” map). Even if you aren't heading to Yellowstone or the Grand Tetons in the next few days, using this app allows you to envision the day when you get a chance to see the incredible parks.

  • Very Useful App

Used this App to select hikes for both Grand Tetons & Yellowstone in June 2012 and found it to be very useful. Descriptions and ratings were accurate. As a result, we enjoyed many hikes and saw a lot of wildlife while enjoying some amazing views. The app would be even better if it allowed users to rate each hike and leave notes on current conditions. For example, we encountered snow on several trails and there was so much snow on the Mount Washburn trail that we turned back. Had we known the current trail conditions, we would have selected a different trail. Some of our favorite hikes were: Phelps Lake Loop with Death Canyon, Bunsen Peak, Fork @ Cascade Canyon & Grand View. I'm glad that I bought this App and highly recommend it!

This is one of those apps that you think "Why hasn't anyone done this until now?" It does exactly what it says it does: it provides you the hiking trails! And it does so in a very well-laid-out format. I've bought a bunch of these apps by TUA Outdoors and have used two of them. They worked perfectly for planning and I just can't recommend them enough if you plan on visiting any of the parks. They are a no-brainer purchase. I can't wait to use the rest of them at the other parks (and use them again at Yellowstone and Grand Teton!) The best way I could describe them is that they're like having a Falcon Hiking Trail book in a great, concise format on your iPhone. I love them!
