YouTube seems to have tons of different issues, some of which never seem to get fixed and by the look of the rating people are giving this app in exchange never will since why should Google care if they can get top ratings for just existing? (Seriously people, if you don’t like it, stop giving it 5 stars, that’s like giving a misbehaving child a cookie and then complaining that they never get better; there’s no reason for them to, duh!) I’m not sure who asked for autoplay on mobile, but that has to be the stupidest idea since youtube already draws WAY to much battery and that’s just asking to kill the battery of a device faster. Yes, it’s kind of cool, but at the same time some creators put a lot of effort into their splash image and I’d really rather see that than the video soundlessly start playing. That’s just annoying. I know (at least now since it gave me a popup on this after about 2 days with this) that there’s a setting, but it shouldn’t have defaulted to on in the first place. Another thing is since the update it’s been a lot harder to put videos into the watch later list from the home page. I usually do this since I don’t have time to always watch videos in one sitting and tend to lose track of ones I want to watch if I don’t. It used to be as easy as just tapping the 3 dots under the video from the home page, but if I try now it just opens the video. This is especially annoying because I tend to watch a lot of long form stuff and having to wait as an hour long video just opens when all I want to do is add it to my “watch later” list (and this happens MULTIPLE TIMES to the point that it’s definitely an error) There’s also occasionally a problem where the ad on a video won’t load (yes, the ad and not the video itself) thus leaving the video perpetually stuck unless it happens to reload without the ad or with a different one (this is rare, but it has happened) The popups for premium and other such also take up a good portion of the screen. I realize this might be the point, but at the same time coming back to a video to see a huge “YouTube Premium” ad coving the the screen taking away the app’s functionality doesn’t really make premium all that appealing. When I accidentally close out I want to just be able to jump back in, not have to close a giant popup.
