I am learning Japanese and I use this app to help me, the problem is I wish I could practice the lessons I already did but that isn’t an option because they make you go to the next lesson and there isn’t a practice button
  • Very Simple!

I would recommend this to somebody else because this not only has a simple way to learn the words but also matches the sound with them I’m currently learning Japanese, so I can go over to Japan someday without a translator!

Horrible app. Was good when I downloaded at at first, then none of the mems were showing up. I emailed the developers TWO YEARS AGO and they never got back to me nor fixed the problem. The whole point of memrise is for you to see mems that will help you learn a word/phrase. So where are the mems? I got the app in the summer of 2016 and this problem STILL has not been fixed.

The app helps especially with niche languages that Duolingo doesn’t have, for example, Portugal portuguese. Yet, what they offer you to check out is only temporary. You will have no choice but to purchase the app if you want to try out more which I find to be unfair. Duolingo doesn’t even do that. Makes me wonder if they are passionate about helping people learn languages or in it for the money. You don’t get past basic words like, Hi/Ola, Let’s go/Vamos La and Goodbye/Adieus. I need to see more than just a couple of basic words to know if this works for me and to purchase. It’s upsetting. Also, their app profile on apple I just realized said a year free trial but it still wants to charge my card. I’m interested to learn more but the billing and payment is shady. The UX design also needs work. While you are trying to learn a language they have a button on your main interface asking if you want to explore another, it shouldn’t be there.
