A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is like having a PO box on the Internet – an address that is not publicly available. Instead of giving out its personal IP address when you click on a website, your iPhone or iPad gives one of ours. The result? You are securely connected wherever our VPN server is located! Plus, your communications are secured and encrypted, even when using untrusted public networks. Why do you need a VPN? Anytime you connect to a public Wi-Fi hotspot with your device you are putting your security and privacy at risk. Hide My Ass! offers you government-level protection for your personal data when surfing the Internet – wherever you are. Had been a good product until this update. The app crashes every time on my ipad. Need to lick this calf again, HMA!

They recently changed where you can't pick the different servers, only by state/city. All of their IPs end up blocked now, which makes it kind of useless for me. Looking for a better VPN service now.
  • Does not work on any apple device

Very disappointed to be paying for this service. HMA hasn't worked on any Apple device in my home in months. Only works on devices that are not Apple related.
  • Scam alert: auto-renewal you can't cancel

I used HMA to reduce risk on public wifi. However I paid via their website. After an email notification about auto renewal I logged into the website but there was no option to cancel this. Only after my card was debited did the 'cancel' option finally appear, yet based on their terms I can no longer get a refund. If you subscribe via iTunes, you can at least maintain control, but this scam like behaviour can not be recommended on any level. Avoid.

  • Horrible Customer Service

Long story short HMA won't respond to any of my emails about getting a refund. It's been about a week and 4 emails and customer service still won't respond to my request. Also I deleted HMA on my mac then tried to reinstall but I get an error messages saying it's already installed which its not. Aweful experience never had these issues with other VPNs. Did not buy via iTunes
  • Cuts off

It usually at least every 20 minutes cuts out and has to be reset even with a strong wifi signal.

Their customer service is second to none and they are honest from what I gather. My connections on every OS from IOS to Windows 10 has kept me safe from a long battle of hackers and bots that pound at your door when they get a hold of your ISP DNS and/or IP Address. More importantly they help you hurdle most man-in-the-middle type attacks. They are a fast growing company; probably the leaders in multiple security verticals now that Avast, HMA and AVG have joined forces. Go big or go home is what I say. As a footnote, they are rumored to collect a minimal amount of data but it's not shared and only held for a short period of time on their uber secure servers etc. Without any data, folks, how is an innovator of the industry going to continually improve services? My 1 complaint is their Android platform. They need to add it to all Android platforms; especially those with a Google Play Store! They only are offering outdated YouTube videos of how to set it up on a recommended router from Linksys or Asus etc. Basically, they could benefit from updating or revamping their web site and providing support for all Android OS and Linux systems if they continue to advertise that they do. Yes I recommend this service to friends! Please post instructions on how to add the VPN to Amazon TV or at the very least the Nvidia Shield Google Play Store! Thank you for always being their HMA! I don't know if I could roam the internet as care free as I do now without your assistance.
