  • Problem with ipv6 and T-Mobile -Update

UPDATE*** The below issue has been fixed in one of the last couple updates. It was never mentioned directly so not sure if KeepSolid fixed it or T-Mobile fixed their network quirks coincidentally. I’m bumping my rating back to 5. I really like the service. *** For some time now when on cellular connection I’ve only been able to use IPSec. The other options don’t work. The app just says Restarting over and over until it finally fails. As soon as I connect to WiFi it snaps back to life and everything works as expected. IPv6 on the desktop app is problematic too. All my other vpn apps and services work just fine with any configuration. Something’s broke. Edit*** I’m starting to think that the app isn’t disabling IPv6 like it probably should be doing to force an ipv4 tunnel.

  • Love the Unlimited VPN...but the software is buggy and fatally flawed

I purchased the lifetime Unlimited VPN service with 10 seats and it has worked well (for the most part) other that the fatally flawed bug that freezes your system and blocks all access to WiFi every couple of days or so. The problem seems to be that on a regular basis, when it has been running for a while, if the iPad or iPhone goes to sleep with the app active, when you come back to resume your session, the app reports that there is no internet connection - and there isn’t (because the VPN App is blocking access. You cannot shut down the app at this point. A reboot - even a cold boot - reloads the app in its’ frozen state. The only way to recover from this lockout failure (the fatal flaw) is to delete the app. As soon as you delete this app, WiFi will be restored (without rebooting or restarting or otherwise reconnecting to your WiFi) proving that the problem lies in the app and its’ integration into the iOS system. If you don’t mind this happening up to you, download and use now - otherwise I’d recommend waiting for an Update that fixes this fatal bug or use another App or secure browser instead.

Been using this vpn while testing others for few years now as an IT Admin. The UI updates continue to get better yet from time to time, the updates cause connection issues with iOS. Something to do when iPhone sleeps then you wake it up and the vpn does not connect rendering me to manually force close app in settings and reconnect. Happens about 2 out of 10 times, not a dealbreaker but should be addressed better (yes, I’ve submitted many tickets and logs) as well as a “kill” switch like many other vpns have. If vpn is not connected, internet access should not be allowed otherwise you could be unprotected all night while your iPhone is transmitting sensitive dats from some backup apps as well as iPhone/ipad backup. Windows and OS X app seems to work flawlessly.

for quite some time now, I've been asking for a "vpn on cellular only" option but instead they add a "vpn on wifi only" option which is useless. please, add a vpn on cellular only option. I'm a paying customer who can easily take my money elsewhere. is that what you want? I'm tired of asking especially when you encourage feedback.
  • (No longer) Locks up phone. Worse on iPad

Update: the updates seem to have helped and I’m rarely having issues with the app. It integrates well with my devices. Overall, a good VPN. Previous: Just ok when it works. Has major issues with iPad. Logs me out of wifi connection consistently. When I try to log back on, this app inhibits it. Biggest problem is when it's preventing a website or app from connecting, I open the app to switch it off, however, every time the app is opened, it automatically tries to switch on and connect to VPN server. So half the time,I have to wait for it to connect so I can disconnect it. The other half of the time, it just locks up, thereby locking up my device's internet connection. And there's no way to disrupt it. Not closing the app. Not switching off VPN in iOS settings (the app has control and just switches it back on). So my only recourse is to delete the app and re-download it. I'm really regretting signing on for a one-year subscription.

During a privacy test, the IP Address leaks, DNS leaks and there is no kill switch. The speed is also not that great.

Each recent app update makes the VPN service worse. The latest causes the VPN servers to squash your internet connection in around 10 minutes, forcing you to disconnect and reconnect repeatedly. Avoid this VPN service until the programmers figure out what they're doing. They obviously haven't heard of the KISS principle, or if it's not broken don't fix it. Update: No, I will not switch to a less secure protocol due to bugs created by your programmers. I have switched to other VPN services on the devices I have updated. Older versions of the app work fine, which singles out the updated app as the problem. Update 2: The VPN still has connection problems. There have been SIX versions/updates with downgrades, and they still can't get things working correctly. It's a shame, as they were one of the best VPN providers. Update 3: There are still the same problems. Now server speeds are a slow crawl.
