Natural Cycles helps you keep track of your ovulation, period and fertility. The app will show you when to use protection to effectively prevent a pregnancy. It is clinically tested to be 99.5% effective*. *Natural Cycles has a method failure Pearl Index of 0.5, which means that 5 women out of 1000 get pregnant during one year due to a falsely attributed green day. Natural Cycles has a typical-use Pearl Index of 7.0, which means that in total 7 women out of 100 get pregnant during one year due to all possible reasons (e.g. having unprotected sex on red days, failure of the contraceptive method used on red days). Natural Cycles analyses your temperature, period and ovulation to calculate when you are fertile and should use birth control (e.g. condoms). Our algorithm is the brains behind the app. It takes care of all the complex calculations and tells you everything you need to know about your cycle. How it works: Measure your temperature first thing in the morning before you get out of bed. You will need a two decimal basal thermometer to do so. Enter your measurement and other data such as period, sex and LH test results into the app. A green day means you are not fertile. A red day means that you are likely to be fertile and you should use protection. Make sure to read the instructions of use before you get started. For the app to effectively work as a birth control, you should be comfortable with using protection such as condoms on red days. In the beginning, the app will be getting to know your unique cycle, so you will have more red days - this is to ensure effectiveness. Once you’ve measured for a while you can get as little as 8 red days in one cycle. Natural Cycles does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Planning a pregnancy: Natural Cycles goes beyond birth control. Our ‘Plan a pregnancy’ mode lets you know when you are most fertile and time your sex to increase your chances of conceiving. The app will let you know when it’s best to take a pregnancy test. Once a positive test is entered into the app, it switches colours and your features change. You will now be able to track the development of your pregnancy. You can easily switch back to "Prevent". Really wanted to like this but I'm never able to save the information I input daily. Makes the app totally worthless.
  • Great learning tool

I have a highly irregular period, and the app isn't absolutely keyed up to handle that. I still have quite a few red days, even though I am regularly adding my temps in. However, I have found it extremely helpful in just getting to know how to predict when my periods come (which used to be seemingly without rhyme or reason) and I have also made a great connection to my temperatures and my emotional states (I can now tell when I'm truly PMSing or feeling foggy, etc). I think it's a great holistic approach to birth control, but probably best for women who are very regular. I am encouraged to keep inputting my temps because even with such an irregular period, I have gained so much knowledge about myself through this app.

I always thought my cycle was too irregular to track until now. This app is amazing! It's super empowering and I am really glad to finally be getting to know my body and how it all works. It's super user friendly and intuitive. Highly recommended.
  • Love it!

This app is fantastic. Beyond really helping as a form of contraception (I swear birth control is destroying women's bodies) this app also REALLY helps you get to know your own body. Highly highly highly recommend!!!

    Try it for yourself!
  • Good app but problems with iOS 11

    By evolutionkakumei
App works well but there are some UI oddities with my iPhone SE since installing iOS 11. Apart from that I do wish the thermometer that you ship with the subscription would have a backlight for the LCD as I have to leave the bedroom so as to not disturb my spouse to gain enough light to see the results. Also, the built in app help should be more detailed and it should also provide a legend for all the symbols and icons.
  • Good app

The app is fantastic. Yes, you can do the same thing with a chart, but that's definitely for someone more organised than me. I have slightly irregular cycle and the app worked perfect with predictions so far. I also have a peace of mind that I have ovulations - I recently quit birth control for the second time (tons of added risk of breast cancer and blood clotting) and it's a relief to know they already returned.
