  • Data usage high

I was using Auto Backup, but my notebooks get updated every time I make a change. This results in VERY high data usage for my large notebooks (one is now 525 MB). (I keep my iPad connected to my iPhone’s hotspot.) Maybe they could figure out how to amend the backup function instead of replacing the whole thing each time? For now, I have to do a manual backup when I get to (non-cellular hotspot) WiFi, because my iPad doesn’t know the difference between using my cell phone’s hotspot and (landline) WiFi.
  • ALMOST Perfect!

This was the first digital writing app that I purchased, the other being Notability, and I absolutely love it!!!! I love how customizable the paper, notebook covers, pen/highlighter colors , and pen sizes are. HOWEVER, my only wish is that it would incorporate an audio recording tool such as Notability! I’m always on the lookout for this because it seems like years since it was mentioned to be in the works on the GoodNotes website. For that reason alone, I find myself having to resort to Notability for its audio capabilities, which really annoys me because I really prefer GoodNotes when it comes to formatting and writing. Even though I end up using Notability on the daily for school, I do find myself returning to GoodNotes to write on documents, PDFs, textbooks, and other readings. Its perfect for annotating texts! Overall, this is an amazing app! The functions are very customizable and can be easily fitted to the user! The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because it has failed to develop the audio function, which thousands of similar users like myself have upvoted on its Request Feature page on the GoodNotes website.
  • The Only Reason I Got an iPad

I am an avid notebook lover and bother the crap out of my boyfriend because I have so many notebooks that I have t quite filled up. I just love stationary and was never to give it up. I also had a pretty powerful PC and didn’t feel the need to traverse to a tablet after having a bad experience with a Samsung tablet. But alas after leaving college I started to hate my PC and it was giving me more problems than I liked. For starters I was so sick of the updates from Dell and Windows and Intel and the crashing and the blue screens and failed updates. All I wanted to do was write seamlessly. And I was sick of getting my beautiful hand written notes washed away. So I sold my computer and never looked back. This is a great app. Right now I’m having fun converting all of my journals into the app and practicing my handwriting. If it wasn’t for this app and the Apple Pencil I would have never batted an eye at an iPad. Totally recommend watching all the YouTube videos before buying like I did. And playing around with it in the App Store. Wish they had sticky notes and searching made more streamlined but fantastic. ❤️
  • Great! A Few Suggestions

I love using this app. Compared to the others, I find it to be superior. However, I do have some suggestions that would dramatically help to make this miles ahead of the other note taking apps. First, allow for recordings to be made simultaneously with writing notes. Second, we have a lot of space on the top tool bar to allow for multiple pens that potentially could be different colors and sizes. Third, implementing a rule could be very handy. While there is a tool like this, it’s not perfect. Sometimes it would be handy to have a protractor or straight edge to help making curves, circle, or long straight lines. For a protractor, this could helpful to provide the ability to make lines at specific degrees. Other than that, this app is great and I highly recommend it. I’m a pre-med student in my last year of college.
  • LOVE THIS APP BUT

Use it for college but the only thing I’d say to change/add is more notebook designs/styles!!! The ones it has are pretty dull and don’t make it fun. Also let us add dividers/folders INSIDE a notebook.
  • Add “favorites” for pen size and color

It works great. Been using it everyday for the past 2 weeks on my iPad 2018. I hope in the future they’ll add a “favorites” section for pen size and color. Also, a lasso tool for just a portion of an image that I pasted on a page.

I turned on iCloud trying to sync all my files across devices. I changed my mind within a minute. I wanted to keep all my stuff on my ipad. I turned off iCloud and clicked “keep on my device.” The loading wheel kept spinning. I waited for a while and closed the app. All things were gone after I reopened it.
  • Truly Amazing

I love this application for my ability to make my notes clean and creative. Writing on paper is great, but I can’t make notes to be symmetrical and cohesive like I can with this app. I love using it on my iPad 6th generation!

After making my backup it didn’t delete anything it just put me into a blank category instead of the one I had my three notebooks in which made me think it did. Very confusing but importantly I was wrong and the app did save my work. So all good and thank you devs for a solid app, my apologies for being dumb

Love this app! But we need more template choices (i.e. two columns, Cornell notes, etc). Also, can we get a chisel tip option for highlighting?
