Medium is made for you: readers, writers, thinkers — people who are genuinely curious about the world and your part in it. We are a home for big ideas that take on some of the most exciting and perplexing questions of the day. From opinion pieces to interviews to in-depth reportage, photography, and features, Medium stories take many shapes, but always leave you with a bit more insight into the world. Our app features a clean reading experience designed to let you focus on the story (without an ad in sight) wherever you are, from your commute to your couch. You can read a select number of stories for members each month for free — or subscribe for $5/month for unlimited access. HOMEPAGE: The sheer volume of information on the internet can get to be too much. So in our app, we curate stories based on your personal interests and our editors’ picks of the most interesting and vital reads of the day. You’ll always see a mix of featured and personalized stories on your feed. COLLECTIONS: Our editors package the best stories on Medium into multi-part collections that you can binge-read or savor over time. You can explore our monthly magazine, which features new stories every weekday on big, meaty themes. You’ll find expert columns, multi-author anthologies, and comprehensive explainers. READING: Our app is meticulously designed for readers to let you focus on the words. Bookmark stories on your personal reading list. Add your voice to the conversation by writing a response. Clap for stories to show writers your appreciation. If there’s a particular line or passage that intrigues you, highlight it for posterity. MEMBERSHIP: With a free Medium account, you get access to all these features, can read all free stories on Medium, and can read a select number of stories for members (the ones with a star next to them) per month. If you upgrade to become a Medium member, you’ll get unlimited access to everything Medium has to offer: the smartest and most ambitious stories from the sharpest writers on Medium, audio versions of popular stories, offline reading access, and more. All for $5/month or $50/year. WRITING: For writers, we know the inspiration knows no bounds — you can compose a new story on the go and then switch easily to your tablet or computer without a hiccup. Your Medium membership will automatically renew each month, and you will be charged $4.99 through your iTunes account within 24-hours prior to the end of the current monthly cycle. You can turn off auto-renew at any time from your iTunes account settings up until 24-hours before the end of the current period, but refunds will not be provided for any unused portion of the term. It's a great app keep doing the great work. It’s the most essential source of my knowledge.
  • Everything recommended needs upgrade

    By Princechawla
I know that there are free articles to read on medium. But on the app, everything that is recommended is a paid article. The past couple of days, all articles I have clicked are paid articles. Recommendation should be based on my reading history and not on what makes more profit. If the recommendation set intersects with the one that needs upgrade, that is fine, but that’s not the case with this app. Deleting the app. Thanks a lot.
  • Overrated and poorly thought through

I tried the Medium app and prefer reading Medium articles in the browser. For one thing, the app doesn't support swiping right from the edge to go back. Unfortunately, Medium doesn't use a conventional username and password login. Instead, when you want to login so you can follow an author, Medium sends you a so called "Magic Link." What genius thinks users want to leave the reading experience they are happily immersed in, and go to their mail client and open an email just so they can log onto the website they are already on? 🤔 What's worse, the "magic link" never logs you in so you can read from your browser. Instead, the link insists on opening the Medium app. In short, on an iPad Pro, which is an ideal way to read, you can never login to Medium in the browser. Because it is easier for me to read from an iPad than from a laptop or a desktop screen, the net result of Medium's misguided magic link is that I don't read Medium is much as I otherwise would.

Had some good reads while on this app Until I opened it up today and found out that you can only read 4 stories per month unless you pay $5 fee to keep reading. Uninstalled, searching for a new FREE reading app
  • Didn’t get in

I don’t want to give you my Google/Facebook/my main email address. My second email address won’t work because I can’t open that address on my phone. Now I becomes suspicious why I have to give you some of my privacy to use this.
  • Medium as required reading

The Medium App is great... it constantly provides reliable access to entertainment, enrichment, and for me, what has turned into “daily required reading.” The content available makes Medium the best $5 I spend each month (subscription cost.) It is worth considerably more; and the App works great as well.
  • Great reads

I love this. Always something new to read.
  • Disappointing app. A waste.

Too often the app restarts (with the same repetitive splash screen), dumping the user at the main dashboard, rather than the previous article in session.
  • Great app!

Medium is one of my favorite apps, it is very well designed and there is always something interesting to read. I like that the pieces have read times so you know how long a read your getting into.
  • Enthralling

I am thoroughly enjoying the articles on Medium. It refers me to articles that it can tell I am interested in by my reading history. Medium tells me how long it will take to read an article. I can easily email an interesting article. The writers actually get paid. The site measures interest in each article by the number of claps it receives, and divides the money from APP subscriptions among the authors. Great site.
