Description

Over 21 million people have signed up for Bumble to start building valuable relationships, finding friends, and making empowered connections. Creating new connections has never been easier. Bumble is working to lift the stigma of online dating by employing unprecedented standards for respectful behavior. Because of this relentless dedication, millions of people are using Bumble to build valuable relationships every single day. DATE, MEET FRIENDS, NETWORK Bumble is at the forefront of matchmaking technology by providing an app that allows users to foster more than just romantic connections. The industry-leading app empowers users to swipe through potential connections across three different modes: Bumble: On Bumble, women make the first move. We’ve changed the archaic rules of the dating game so that you can form meaningful relationships in a respectful way. Bumble BFF: Life is better with friends. Whether you’re new to a city or looking to expand your circle, Bumble BFF is the easiest way to make new friends. Bumble Bizz: Now we’re in business. Use Bumble Bizz to network, find mentors, and create new career opportunities. Bumble is the first app of its kind to bring dating, friend-finding, and career-building into a single social networking platform. CHANGING THE RULES OF THE GAME At Bumble, women make the first move. In heterosexual matches, the woman has 24 hours to make the first move and the man has 24 hours to respond. In same-sex matches, either person has 24 hours to make the first move, while the other individual has 24 hours to respond, or else, the connection expires. By prompting our users to be bold and make the first move we’ve seen over 3 billion messages sent to date. THE BUZZ IS REAL "Bumble exists to empower women..." (Fast Company) "Bumble is just an app: but it's changing the discussion." (Wired) "Bumble offers an alternative that prioritises meaningful connections, with women calling the shots:" (UK Sunday Times) "Bumble rejects hate speech to make users feel safe on its dating app" (Texas Standard) "What makes Bumble different from other dating apps...is its focus on giving women all the power. It doesn't matter if people set their preferences to not include your geographic. All that matters is that they fit YOUR preferences. So you could swipe right on people who will never see you.

Guys, the role reversal is great. Psychology has shown when the woman is the pursuer, things work out better because she is certain and more confidant behind her choice. And it’s very nice for a change because you don’t have to stress out if she’s into you AND it answers the question quickly if she’s not cuz there’s a time limit! Brilliant! I see a bunch of complaints on here about bots and whatnot, truth is.. if your profile bio is stupid, if your photos are uninteresting, if you don’t keep up your health and mental wellbeing, IT SHOWS. And you won’t be getting and lady callers. Plain and simple. Get therapy or a dating coach you sorry lot.

In the early days when Bumble was the new Tinder, this app was great. As with all internet trends though, they are short lived. So what’s Bumble to do to set themselves apart from Tinder (besides the women message first gimmick)? Have more attractive people! It’s very obvious especially in more rural areas that they stack the most “right swiped” faces up first so you see them first, giving you the illusion of more attractive people choosing Bumble. If you live in a rural area though, you’ll quickly run out of the more attractive faces and it’s quite evident when you reach the end of the “promoted faces”. Also, Bumble does not account for account activity when showing you faces. I know one person who deleted the app over a year ago, but still shows up in the initial stack of “popular choices” even though they haven’t logged in for a very long time. They didn’t delete their account so it’s expected that they still show up, but if someone hasn’t been active in a hear, what is the point of them showing up still? To stack the popular faces, of course. It’s truly a scam.

I want to start off by saying: Don’t waste your time with this app. Before I list the main reasons I’m deleting my Bumble account and why you shouldn’t waste your time with it, I will say, the verification feature is a nice touch, and I would like to see more apps take the extra step to implement it. Firstly, Bumble seems to operate under the assumption that your #1 focus is a dating app. The 24 hour time limit is incredibly high pressure, and as someone who works full time and is also a student I find myself using this less and less as to not have to make a huge time commitment. Second, although I can see how this is good in theory, the women messaging first constraint is incredibly frustrating, not only that but it does little to nothing to field the amount of weird or creepy messages you’ll receive it puts all the pressure on women, something most of us deal with on the day to day, but is honestly exhausting. I enjoy messaging first 50% of the time, but mostly it’s just a pain, I’ve already made it clear by swiping right on a person that I’m interested in them, let’s make the playing field even. Lastly, as an app that markets itself as a female empowering app it really is so far from that. It doesn’t seem to be aware of it’s less major, but still annoying, flaws. I shouldn’t have to show anyone on Bumble my career, regardless of what I show on my Facebook. I shouldn’t have to show where I go to school. I shouldn’t have to disclose ANY information to strangers that I don’t deem necessary just because I have it displayed to my friends on my private Facebook. People have lives and responsibilities. I shouldn’t have to feel pressured to message people in fear of losing the potential connection. tl;dr: Don’t waste your time, just use tinder
