  • Has its issues

If you follow Ramsey and already operate on a zero-out monthly system, this app will probably work for you. Pros: -Highly customizable -Pretty graphs -Free! Cons: -Really only works on Ramsey’s monthly zero-out philosophy (wow, surprise): I assign every single dollar a category, but prefer to have budgeted leftovers carry over towards next month’s totals, and to gradually set aside for larger, bi-annual/quarterly bills every month. That’s only possible here if you manually make every category a fund. -budget does not automatically reflect income: When you enter an income received transaction, that does NOT CHANGE the planned amt on your budget. So, I might have planned for a $500 paycheck but I get hours cut and only get $400. Well, my budget still thinks I got $500 unless I change the planned amt. So the income you plan is in no way linked to your income transactions, which is kinda bogus. -can’t manually add an acct even without auto transactions—so you can’t track acct balances AND expenses in the same place unless you pay $99/yr. (Lack of balances also means you can’t reconcile with your checking acct. very easily.) I tried this app as a free alternative to YNAB, but even with the price, I prefer the more carry-over-friendly, intuitive features of YNAB. To each their own.
  • The differences between the app and website are ignorant

    By iPianomantanner
The fact that I can’t manipulate the debts in the app like I can on the website is absurd. Can’t even put in the overall amount owed in the app. So so dumb. Such a dumbed down version it’s almost not worth using.
  • Great App

I pay for the premium version so that our families joint account can be easily tracked. This tool gives the data to empower and influence financial change in my household. Great tool.
  • Great budget app

This is a good app for budgeting, however it’s not perfect. The app can be confusing to use at first. There could be a short tutorial, perhaps. I signed up for premium, but my bank info doesn’t display in real time, so I end up going to my bank app anyway. Canceled the paid part of the app and will just use it for free now. It would be nice if the amount shown under “planned” bills would show what you the amount currently owed on each bill, instead of displaying the whole, original amount. I like the meter the shows how close you are, but it doesn’t show the dollar amount left unless you click on it. Good app, I will continue to use it. Better than other budgeting apps I’ve used. But improving those fore mentioned items would make it better.
  • Love the system, but the app just isn’t there yet.

I love the concept behind Every Dollar, especially when you pair it with Dave’s Baby Steps. The suggestions for how to use extra money to achieve your goals is great!! But the app falls short when you start using it day to day. Moving extra money from one budget item to another is cumbersome. The same is true for actually tracking how your debt is being paid off - accounting for interest and escrow is a big mess. It’s also messy to really see how much is in your accounts (bank balance minus uncleared transactions). Every Dollar is a great app and I plan to keep using the free version to set up my monthly budgets. But there aren’t enough features for me to use it day by day. It’s just not deep enough to warrant the $100+ price tag of the Plus version. There are other apps out there that do more for less money. Features I’d like to see in the future: 1. View transactions by account and display working balances for all accounts 2. Set up debts and payments including interest and escrow. 3. Easily move extra money from one budget item to another. 4. Set up multiple budgets 5. Upload files like .qfx to import transactions from institutions that don’t allow direct download. 6. Ability to change budget length (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). 7. Set up recurring transactions. The idea for this app is solid. The execution’s just not quite there yet - especially not for $100 per year.
  • Oh, As if any explanation is necessary.

I am horrified that anyone who has written (1 of many) budgeting apps that range from .99 to $4.99 and the like would encourage people who are bad with money to spend over $100! There’s nothing wrong with the app, it has some features others lack and lacks some features others include. It’s not worth more than $3.99. Too much competition. And bad marketing! Got the basic app, immediately deleted it after finding the cost for the full version.
  • Second time in a month randomly logs me out

    By TiffMatt13
I’ve been using this app for about a year and it’s always been great for the simplicity of adding my budget each month etc. Then... in the past month twice it has logged me out unexpectedly. The first time I spoke with customer service because it appeared all my info was gone. Apparently I had two accounts and when I got logged out the first time I accidentally signed into the other one. Fixed that by deleting the secondary account. But then here it is a few weeks later and I’ve been logged out again. I don’t like this as I saved my info for easy open with my fingerprint and this defeats the purpose. Must be a bug or something.
  • Like not love (update- finally gave up)

Going to excel to save money. Tired of all the flaws and a bunch of old transactions just showed up and it’s become a pain. Would love to use it if it was less expensive and less flaws. Great app for literally tracking every dollar, and the best budgeting app I have used (and tried several). I am considering stopping my subscription. I think price needs to be $5 a month, not $10. It’s not worth $10 a month. It’s frequently buggy and I can’t really trust when my transactions are going to pull in. Enjoy the app, but starting to feel not worth the money when I’m trying to save money.
  • Useless unless you pay $10/month for the full version.

Can’t add more than two things per category on the free version.
  • Doesn’t sync with Regions bank

    By KristenMR
Having issues with syncing with Regions, contact customer service and it is due to their security which is actually a good thing. But this keeps me form staying on top of my budget so therefore I had to cancel within my free trial.
